If you wanted to paint a bow is there a certain kind of paint that you would use that would handle the flexing?

I've used Rustoleum primer with no problems.

Terry, I just use the camo paint you can get for duck hunting ( Cabelas / Gander Mtn). It comes in either permanent or removeable versions.  You can get real intricate or just paint it first with green grass color then splash it a bit with black and it will disappear on you.  Careful where you lay it down when hunting.

Clean the bow surface first.

For Rustolium...do you have to prime it 1st then use a black...of do they make a black primer?

If you want it permanent...I guess you spray mat finish poly over the paint?

Terry,
I have a Bear A-mag TD riser that needs to go black. A friend suggested using a spray can of black truck bed liner. I saw it in the spay paint department of both Lowes and Home Depot. My guess is that it would be pretty tough and flexible.
After I use it on the A-mag, I'll let you know how it works.

That black Java Man bow, the one without the leather grip, is a sweet looking bow. Very simple and sleek. Love that look.

I hear ya Joe....I just wonder how much weight that would add....since most of that stuff has rubber in it.  Just food for thought.

If you do it....bring it to Wild Things.

Terry I've used the primer as the top coat and it held up just fine.

Bed liner spray would add a lot of weight to a bow, enough to cause performance problems I bet.
