All the Howatt trad bows were made in Yakima since Damon Howatt began making them in the late 1930's. (He was killed in a car wreck in the mid 1960's.)

Martin has been the owner since 1976, but moved the Yakima production to Walla Walla just a couple years ago.  After Gail Martin passed 2 years ago, the company was sold with new owners still trying to produce bows.

Just from the pics, I would not hesitate in stringing up that oldie and send some arrows down range.  I love those old Howatts.

i was thinking it had more value, historical or otherwise , in its original condition but i suppose a new feather rest and strike plate. re-glue the leather grip and a new string might do her some good.
not sure yet, i'd hate to ruin a classic but then again its not like its from the mary rose or something.
If I do decide to string it, anyone have a recommend brace to start with.
