Finally got to scout
« on: October 13, 2007, 03:46:00 PM »
Well the weather turned cooler 48. Not so many bugs now GEEEZZZ! went out today with my brother inlaw and Shell. Shell plans on hunting some this year. As some knmow she has had some health issues but felt good enough to scout with us for a little while. This farm is 100 plus acres with corn ad soybean. Big hard woods also and apples. Lots of deer tracks and yotes are in abundance also. Here's a few pics. I'M PUMPED!     Hre's a pic of a rub we found. Kinda early I thouight but looked real fresh.   Heres a great run that leads into a big swap(THICK)

Yep this farm country is great hunting. I know some might think it's a little late for scouting. But here were we live the deer are kinda use to having people around. Now that in no way means they are not shy of humans THEY ARE! but it does mean you can go out and scout and a few days later hunt. we do 99% of our hunting from the ground BTW. Did I mention I'm PUMPED!<><

Thanks Donny, some have asked me were shell is and why she is not in the pics. She is behind the camera. She would not let me or her brother take any pics.<><   :banghead:

The good times are just around the corner now - it should be picking up in the next week or two.  Is that property near home for you, or do you have to drive?  Sure looks like southern WI!

I'll be watching for stories of the hunts to come  :readit:

Whipper it's about 7 min from our house. The only problem is a west wind will be a hard time to hunt. we found some very old treestands from years gone by. One had the chain inbedded in the tree. BTW did I tell I'M PUMPED   :bigsmyl:  Kenny Shell is hanging inthere she is going to try all heck to get some hunting in this year.<>< <><
