My bear came home today.........photo
« on: September 26, 2015, 04:48:00 PM »
I wasn't expecting it so soon.....but the bear I shot on Bear Quest #9 came home to me today in rug form. Got a call that it was done along with the boiled skull. KAT will post a photo shortly. I was pleased the way it came out, it will be a real conversation piece in the future.

Congrats! Nothing like a new trophy for the wall. My wife says I don't need anymore but I have to disagree.

Congratulations Ron, that is a fine looking conversation piece.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Very nice. I like that the mouth is closed and the ruffled edges of the rug give it a very unique look.

A hunt based only on trophies taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be . . . time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live there.

That looks great Ron!  I'm glad you had a successful hunt last spring.  Good luck with your rehab this fall!  I know you want to spend time in the deer woods!

I had to talk the taxidermist into having the mouth closed. He said everyone always wants it open to look fierce. I told him I want the bear to look like he did just before I shot him.
