All that practice leading up to the season.....

.......and I just missed. Got in the woods around 2:30 and have seen 4 deer already. A doe gave me a broadside 6 yard shot it 15 minutes ago, but she jumped the string. Guess I'm still looking for my first trad kill. Still a lot of daylight left and there was a lot of activity here yesterday evening, so maybe I'll get another chance.

Confidence is a big part of being successful, which you will gain. As long as you are shooting at deer you will connect as you realize your mistakes and eliminate them. Good luck the rest of the season.

Don't feel bad I missed a 12 yarder this morning at a doe. She ducked hard . Pretty disappointed I need to remember to aim a bit lower. I'm sure we'll get em next time!

that was a let down I'm sure, but if you are getting them that close to you, it is only a matter of time. you will kill one very soon. I have not shot yet but I do have visions of missing one

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I saw three more does this evening, but, without going into detail, I'm afraid things got worse after the miss. I know these things happen if you hunt enough, and it will eventually happen again, but it doesn't make it any easier.

It is about the hunt not the kill. Take it all in and enjoy your experiences.

I see it as All that practice leading up to the season.....was a lot of fun. We have all missed, that doesn't nullify all of the time spent in preparation for the season. Keep at it and good luck.

Sorry to didn't connect. Just pick a spot low on the body and concentrate, especially from an elevated stand. Bend from the waist, concentrate on the spot you want to hit, release and follow-through. It will happen.
