What is your favorite Practice Target?
«

The Block, Block 4x4, Yellow Jacket, 3D Game form; what is your favorite target? I have been using a cardboard box target filled with foam for the past few years. Its been shot to death so I'm looking for a replacement. Any suggestions? I threw out a few tennis balls to shoot at today and shot tighter patterns with those than anything else....

an old milk jug, I like to use blunts, just shooting at a block target gets boring after a while, but I could shoot at milk jugs all day

Try hanging 2 liter bottles from trees. They're fun to shoot at.

I have a Small Bag Target for In-The-House Practice, and a BIG Bag Target for Outdoors. I got some Styrofoam Balls from WallyWorld, Covered them in Duct Tape, Painted the Biggest,8" of the 3 Bright "Marker Orange Spray Paint", and left theother 2, 4" or so Dia., just Duct Taped!
Just Chuck them Puppies out in the Grass and shoot away!!

I have been using 16 oz plastic water bottles here lately. Been having a lot more fun shooting at them than my block target. Getting lots better too.

All summer I shoot feed sacks stuffed with plastic shopping bags. Starting the last two weeks in Sept., I switch to broadheads only, and shoot a Cabela's block target. I shoot a few every evening, and the block target will be trash by November.

Bob,
My neighbor doesn't have cat anymore.... no I didn't either
I really like my Rhinehart 18-1 and ball. Great little target, easy pull and seem to take a lot of shooting without falling apart. dino

Started with an inexpensive Mckenzie bag target but I haven't used it since I picked up a rhinehart 18-1. I have been shooting it since May and it's still in great shape. (probably since I miss it so often I guess...

I think stump shooting is cool. A regular target being a block or the (same) 3D deer turns me off after a few shots. I could never get into shooting groups anyway. Give me a leaf in the wind and a judo. Now I'm happy! I do have a ten target 3D course at my house upstate. Walk a 360 around each target for a 40-50 shot day.
My Two Cents

Small soccer balls with some of the air let out and I use blunts. You can kick the target anywhere you want and know the distance is different each time. You get a direct hit and the arrow bounces one way and the ball rolls another way. Its great fun and great for estimating distance with each shoot.

I use just about everything mentioned above but my favorite is grown right here in East Texas. Pine cones! Big one's too. If you can consistantly hit these at different yardages you will deffinatly be ready for hunting season. When you wear them out just find some more. I've never heard anyone complain about me stealing their pinecones. lol. Leonard.

I have one of those two sided Morrell killer bee targets. I like it because it's got all the little bullseyes. Good for playing pick a spot hit the dot.For broadheads I have a super hard spaceage plastic square block. It was cheap if I remember correctly but it does the job. Usually my kids chip in and buy me one of those Cabela's backyard bucks . I like them too my kids have been slackin' though. Birthdays coming up though.

I've got a 3-D deer target that is pretty well shot up. I've used a "Block" target that I shot till it fell apart. Now I'm using some foam target from one of the big sporting goods chains. But if you want to really know what my all time favorite traget is.....it's any old picture of my ex wife.
Just joking but that's not a bad idea if you divorced guys know what I'm talking about.
