Legally speaking in my area all stands cannot be left overnight on any PUBLIC lands. Because many people choose to ignore this law here, they also suffer the loss of their stuff accordingly. Sometimes it is thieves but often it is the authorities that take them down. On private lands, all stands I leave up have the lower steps removed each day to prevent access to them.
