That's where I was yesterday. Just knew I had set it in the console of my pickup.

Well, turns out I had dropped it by the truck prior to leaving. Today I thought I would practice without it. Other than hurtin like the devil I shot where I looked. At least next time, (hope it never happens)I can sit with confidence.

That's why I wear a glove. If my glove is not on my hand it is strapped to my GFA style side quiver. Dropped too many tabs during compound days and early trad days.

Went back to a glove for the same reason. Fishing for your tab with your Swiss Army knife tied to a cord takes real skill.

I always have a spare that never leaves the fanny pack for just that reason.

I keep 2 tabs with my arm guard at all times. Also, I keep one in the pocket of my safety harness. It's a real bummer to up the tree and realize you don't have a tab.

A couple of years ago, I had misplaced my glove and couldn't find it in my pack when I got on stand. As luck would have it, a nice 10-point came by about mid-morning. I never thought about it, just shot him with bare fingers on the string.

Somewhat the same thing happened last fall. It was very cold, and I had my tab (changed from a glove to a tab) in my pocket. Just got on stand, and the buck was upon me. No time to fish the tab out of my pocket. Again shot bare fingers. Worked fine.

I'm considering not using a glove when I hunt. Can't shoot many arrows without a glove or tab without the fingers beginning to hurt, but one or a few arrows are no problem. Just one thing less to forget or go wrong.

Thats why I have like 10-12 of them stashed everywhere... PACK, TRUCK, WORK BENCH, Shirt pocket... and it's only my 2nd year! Probably have 100+ by the time I get old... :D

Well, I lost one glove and one tab. I like shooting with the tab better, so I have a couple of them. One is tied to my back quiver. I guess I need to get another to tie to my possibles bag, but I've shot with bare fingers from the stand before without any real issue. Kind of stings when it's really cold out, but usually it's just one shot...not a big issue.

I once climbed up a tree and settled in only to realize I didn't have my glove. I looked down and saw it on the ground below me. As I climbed down to retrieve it, a doe showed up. After waiting for her to walk off I grabbed it. Halfway back up the tree, a ten pointer stopped right in front of me. I waited a good 5 minutes for him to walk away. I always climb with my glove on my hand at all times now.

I'm with Orion. I can shoot just as well...probably a little better...without a tab for several shots. Then it starts getting painful.

I am a notorious tab loser. I have 3 in my gear always, and a dozen brand new in the package in the top drawer of my gear box.

That said, I would not hesitate to shoot an animal with bare fingers. It's one of the reasons I tie on nock points rather than use the brass crimp style.

Itis always wise to carry at least an extra tab or glove,but be prepared to shot bare fingers it is easier and better of what many can realise

Two tabs,...I keep one on my finger so I won't loose it.., 2 strings, 2 or 3 armguards. One quick on for early season thin shirts, 2 pullover stretch with velcro sewn on the upper end to tighten down. One is for medium layers the other with longer velcro is for really cold weather. Extra Hoyt stick on flipper rest,
3 extra AA cell batteries (needed 2 of those yesterday morning for gps before daylight) two for gps one for trailing light.

Two extra knives one little case knife and one Havalon.

I guess im lucky in the fact that I can shoot a good 20 or so arrows without too much pain. Im sure it helps that I shoot relatively light weight bows.

not the worst thing to take one shot without it.

Last week I hiked in 1.5 miles, and was halfway up the tree in my climber. I went to strap in and I found that forgot my carabiner. I guess I could have run the tree strap through my tether, but i called it a day and hiked out.
