Waiting on a new Schafer Silvertip
« on: October 26, 2015, 09:09:00 AM »
Its been 16 months.  Beth mailed it on Wed Priority Mail 2 to 3 days.  Its still not here.  Tracking number says Expected Delivery on Saturday.  I left my hunting vacation 2 days early so I could get it on Saturday.  No package.

I checked the website again and it says it was delivered to my local Post Office this morning.  So I jumped out of bed and drove to the PO to pick it up.  I work 12 to 8 today.  Didn't want to wait until tonight to get it of course.

I get there and ask for it.  "Its in a big bin in the back.  It still needs sorted.  We will deliver it to you today."  I said, "Its Priority Mail, it was supposed to be here Saturday."  She replied, "Its not a guarantee."

So why and how can they advertise 2 to 3 day delivery?  That's what you pay for.  Ugh.  I guess I waited this long, another 12 hrs wont hurt.  Just had to vent.  Its tough waiting on a new toy.

The last 3D shoot was Sunday.  Beth sent it asap so I would have it for that.  Sorry Beth, not your fault.  Thanks for everything.

It's worth the wait. I got a new used one a couple weeks back, and love it. Killed my first deer with last week.

Sorry about the frustrations.  I've had some similar ones lately.  Got up early one morning last week to get blood work done for an annual exam, got to the lab, without breakfast or coffee, of course, only to be told the Dr's office hadn't put the order for the blood tests into the computer.  It's the time wasted needlessly running around trying to get things done when somebody else has dropped the ball that bugs me.

As far as the 3D shoot is concerned, it could be a blessing in disguise.  It's always a good idea to have a couple of weeks to become accustomed to a new bow before doing anything serious with it.  Hopefully you'll get it today and will enjoy your new Schaffer as much as I've enjoyed mine.

You left a hunting vacation 2 days early to get a bow?  Scratching my head at that one.

Deer werent moving, rain was coming, and u cant hunt on Sundays in PA.  And its a one of a kind by Dave.  I wanted to shoot it on Sunday at the last 3D shoot.  Plus it was a 16 mo wait.  I was excited.

Guess l'll have to wait till the next shoot to see them in person. Upside to that is Carlisle's next shoot is only 3 months away. That's nothing compared to the wait for the bows!

That sounds better.  I was just teasing anyway.  Can't wait to see pics of it.  If it is anything like you other ones, it will be a beaut.

Sorry to hear that Keith.  I finally found a john Schultz all wood longbow with the right specs after years of looking (it's a twenty five year old bow). Usps tracking says it arrived this am at the post office so five minutes after they open i called and said I've got a priority insured package in a long tube that arrived this morning and  the area i lived in and wouldn't be  home for delivery and could the possibly pull it aside for pickup. She asked me to hold for a minute and came back on and said I've got it here for you to pick up.  Enjoy your new bow once you get your hands on it.
