both Saterday and Sunday evening i have had chances to take deer at point blank ranges. first night a doe and yearling feed by my stand at 3 yeards. i decieded to pass and just watch as she has had 2 fawns last year and this year, she is a good breeder. you can learn a lot just watching and it is great entertainment! never once did she look back at the brush line or up at me, eyes and ears allways scanning the upper field for movement, i think this would be an excellent opportunity for a ground hunt buti do so love the view of a tree stand. i could see every muscle on her move as she walked and feed pulling up grass shoots and other greens. the litle one seemed to like the babys breath flowers and was fun to watch him pull them up. they entertained me for 45 minutes untill dark. i then spooked a doe on the way down that i had not noticed. last night i had a good sized button buck come from theotherway and pass about 15 yards from my stand, i enjoyed watching him too, maybe next year! about 30 minutes before dark a HUGE doe and smaller doe jumped out of the hedge row and walked straight to my brother in law, i could not believe he didn't take one. this doe was the secound biggest doe i have ever laid eyes on, a real moose! she feed right under his stand untill pitch dark when i walked up to him and spooked them. i said he was not sure if it was the mother and fawn i did not want anyone to shoot. i laughed so hard i about fell over. the little deer was around 80 pounds and the big one had to be 140 or more, that was not mother and fawn!! glad he had a sense of humor!! i am totally enjoying myself and my 2 weeks of vacation, could not think of a better way to spend and! good luck to all!
