Two Does in front and a beast on my back
« on: November 05, 2015, 03:52:00 AM »
I have been seeing a lot of action around my home area, so I though I should get out to a spot where I took a nice buck last year around this time.
I didn't get into my spot until 9:30 since I had to get my Daughter off to school first.
Well, sure enough the chasing is in full swing. I'm trying to get set up, and I just decide to take a knee because deer are scurrying around me. My heart leaps when I see that a big 8 is pushing these Does around, and they are coming my way. Two Does end up right in front of me, and the buck is right up my backside! I'm holding out for a shot at this brute. They all take off again, and he never gets in front of me.
After about a 20 minute show, they were gone.
I had put my phone down in front of me set on video hoping for some cool footage. I ended up clipping this still shot from it. Never caught any action of the buck.
It got hot out, so I split. Hope to get back there soon.

BTW, these two Does came right past me between the two big trees in the pic.

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Sounds like a  great Morning Jerry, keep after it... Its funny how unpredictable these deer can get this time of year.
Relax,

  Sounds like fun to me......

Jer, you are in some mighty pretty country up there!

LOTS of big game lands, too!  I used to run up 33 to 80 and over into Joisey to the Whittingham shoot...

You write a good tale...

Keep at it... bound to happen!  And if not, close encounters make the heart strong!

Nice any day in the woods is way better then a day in the office, I think.
