I had one very large non-typical that I was keeping tabs on before season. he moved into a smaller wma for a period and an army of young 'trophy hunters' moved in. He has since moved on, but while still hunting to see where we could hunt without some newcomers telling us that we cannot hunt near their tree stands claim stake, I shot an eight pointer. Now I am guide/turkey hunter/pheasant hunter with my bow. My wife refuses to hunt where she is anywhere near a tree stand. I tell her that some guys put up six or more and will more than likely not show up, but she figures if she is there, they will. Tree stands do not give one access control rights on Iowa public land, it is a first come first serve basis.
