Army, '65-'67. Interesting how well the returning vets of today are received when coming home as compared to the reception we of the 'Nam era experienced on our return. Personally, I wasn't exposed to any hateful or derogatory treatment but heard of many who were. They were spit on, called baby killers and were generally disrespected. A lot of us didn't ask to go but did when we were called. Proud of my service even though in a losing cause. To be clear. I didn't go to Nam but was sent to Korea for sixteen months. Didn't face the horrors so many did and made the ultimate sacrifice which is definitely the correct term in those cases. My hat is off to all of you who did station in 'Nam and returned home safely. A "thank you" is totally inadequate to express my admiration for you.

Army, 67-68-69, got lucky, they sent me to Germany instead of the other place. Pretty unusual seeing as how I was a helicopter crewchief for my first year and in helicopter field maintenance for the next year and a half.

ARMY 1973-1980 Experiences had!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-BOW in one hand-ARROWS in the other-Body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming-WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!

Thanks to all military veterans, and I'd like to extend the thanks to Law Enforcement Veterans as well. We all fall under the categories of underpaid and underappreciated for the amount sacrifice given in the service of our country and our communities.

Thank you to all who have, continue to, and will serve!   :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:
