Massachusetts buck down
« on: November 21, 2015, 09:46:00 PM »
Shot a great buck today at 3:30.
Haven't been able to hunt or even shoot much this year, work has been a "bit" overwhelming.
I had a chance to get out and took it. Although it is still warm here, this guy was moving at 3:30, came right down the trail I set up on and I got my first ever whitetail heart shot.
I wasn't sitting more than 30 minutes.
Not sure what he weighs, but a bruiser of a body.
9 points, a great public land deer for me.
Had a fantastic night with Tyler my 12 year old, who helped find, drag and gut the beast. His excitement through all of it still has me with a non stop smile on my face.(although the picture shows him looking a little tired!)
I used my old ILF tournament recurve, which I have not hunted with in 10 years. It is the easiest to shoot however, which is why I took it.
20 yard shot broadside, couldn't have asked for better. A great day to be alive.

Fantastic buck, his body makes the rack look small, till you look at the pict with you in it. Congratulations!!!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
