Great story, I really enjoyed this one, thanks for sharing.  Congrats on a great old warrior!  He dwarfs that deer cart

Thanks guys, There was a couple bucks that I remember around the time he was born that he could of been one of there offspring. We had a monster of a buck running that ridge and area that had a body just as big years ago we named "Toad" his behavor was a lot like him to.

He only came out during the rut, you could see that body a mile a way and the rack was thick but not overly big. He would wear all the hair off his shoulders and clear to his mid back every year and you could spot that white skin and know it was him. I came oh so close so many times like Crazy but he was always chasing something and never standing still.

We didn't have any cams till ten years ago and the first ones were terrible, only got a few picks of him but they were blurry! So it could have been him, Maybe this guy I took this buck 10yrs ago with a 8yd shot off the same ridge he was 6/7 and Crazy's main beams looked similar shape the last 3 years.

Who knows but I know we're lucky and very grateful to hunt were we do and it's fun to try and figure out who's genes were passed down and there off spring. My sons took there first deer off this place and my grandsons are sitting in blinds and checking cams with us now. Hopefully they will get there first from there too        :goldtooth:

Thanks again!!

Tracy

I love hearing the back story, the history with the land and buck, the kinsmanship with the ridge you were hunting, the sheds, Your Shop - where all those memories live on......  [clapper]

Thanks Ben, I couldn't agree more and it's the type of story's I look for on here myself. I just said not long before your post that there was so much more to this hunt then I could possibly put on here but you said it all right there. Thank you!

Thanks to all for the nice comments and Happy Thanksgiving!

Nice Tracy glad to see he made it through the blue tounge we had in 13. Also glad to hear such a heavy weight bread. There should be more like him out there with that kind of age on him. Congratulations
