Sounds like the young man gets along with that bow very well, in a very short time.
I had a turkey disappear for a short while once, a bobcat found it and buried it in leaves.
Good luck next year. Try to show up around this time of year, it seem as December 15 is when the magic begins down South.

The weather this year down here was weird. I have seldom ever seen so many days in Oct with NE winds like we had in N Texas.
