While many of them enjoy target archery, their feelings and laws regarding bow hunting are very different from ours, so it is probably best to stay away from that subject unless someone else raises it first. If someone does, then I would simply express your feelings honestly, while acknowledging that our traditions are different.
UK's laws aren't as harsh as some. I understand that just passing through the Netherlands with broadheads in your luggage on the way to some other country where bowhunting is legal can get your archery equipment confiscated. You didn't mention bringing any broadheads into the UK, but since bowhunting is illegal there, you might want to check on their laws before bringing any broadheads in.
