Fiber glass and wood Riser fade????????????

When using a power lam (wood) has anybody used a piece of glass on there riser fade.
Typical fade 1/16" @ 1", 1/8" @ 2"

Someone did a build along R/D and used about 20 pieces of glass and some wood in there riser.
