Blunts or Judo's work best for stump shooting, the key is finding well rotted stumps. If you shoot at fresh ones you will break a lot of arrows.

For years, I used .38 spcl cartridges on 11/32 dia. woods, and they still work great, although lighter than the steel blunt. Next are steel and Judo heads. I have used the rubber, but think the others are better.  Rubber might work just fine, give a few a try.
