Head Hunting
« on: March 30, 2008, 01:47:00 PM »
Eastern Sunday I had all to myself and took a long postponed foray to surface hunt for arrowheads along local river shores. My expectations were low to begin with, but were wildly exceeded with my first ever arrowhead finds. Thought I would share them with you all.

My very first arrowhead ever...

The last (and best??) of the day...

And a pic of all together...

Don't know much about these things. So feel free to share what you know about them (material, age etc). I thought it was interesting such a wide variety in material and design all found together along a half mile stretch of riverbank on Maryland's eastern shore.

God is Great! Keefers <")))><

Steve, I can see them now...Wow you did good for a first find and looks like you know what to look for...The one that is broken is much like about ten I have and it seems to be a material that has a caramel color to it...I have some I found 30 some years ago with that same color...You got the bug now and every time you walk a beach or a freshly plowed field you will be hangin your head low...Beware of the stiff neck and this is the best time to look...Randy Hiers is a dentist in Cambridge and he used to go to my church and I asked him several years ago if I could search his land and beach and he said anytime...He lives down Fishin creek area and if you want to set a date let me know and maybe we could get a date set to search...Good find now you must make a display case for them...Keefers <")))><
