Zipper Bow Review?
« on: May 31, 2012, 05:36:00 PM »
Any of ya'll shoot a Zipper bow with the longbow limbs? Are they as fast and as whisper quiet as they look? I'm pretty adament when it comes to a quiet bow. They appear to be great bows just looking for some reviews.

I shoot the longbow limbs and absolutely love them. I've only killed two deer with them but on the range an in the woods it points incredibly well. I'm shooting mine on an sxt rizer that makes my bow 62 inches long and 54 pounds at my draw and it feels nothing like that.
Not only do the bows shoot very well but Bill and Tracy are incredible people. I twisted the limbs on mine, which I had bought used, and they fixed it for free. You won't regret going with zipper!

Agree!!! I can only speak to heavier limbs... I have 60'' #60@28 (carbon/foam)longbow limbs, and they are the quietest limbs I have ever shot.. They are very stable and seem 5 pounds lighter than they are. If I drew more than 28'' I would have had Bill build me 62''s, as they settle in right at 28''.

Although I prefer bamboo cores on my Zipper recurves, I LOVE the carbon/foam in the longbow limbs, and they bareshaft the exact same arrow as my #58@28 extreme recurve limbs.

Bill and Tracy are TOP NOTCH and just plain wonderful and friendly people. You wont ever regret the phone call !!!

They would be close to your Shawnee if you have the "A" riser, maybe a touch lighter.

The longbow limb'd Zippers I have shot were hunting quiet with little effort....and didn't sacrifice any speed or manners to do it.

You will not be disappointed!

I own many different makes of recurves and the Zipper is way the quitest of them all.
So I immagine the longbow limbs will be also more quiet. My SXT riser is very confortable with a very consistent grip.

Thanks for all the replys fellas. Now I just have to decide if I want recurve limbs or longbow limbs. Oh yeah, I also have to come up with the cash. Maybe sell this noisey BW I have. LOL. I really do like the looks of those longbow limbs.

Ross, I also had a BW. At the time I thought it was the best bow ever, boy was I wrong. After trying Charlies sxt recurve, I was hooked. I couldn't believe it, that a bow had this less shock, and how much more quiet it was. That being said, he and I took a wild hair to shoot some longbow limbs, and all I can say is I'm a longbow man now. The sxt recurve was the best bow I ever shot, until we put longbow limbs on it. Now the sxt longbow is the best I've shot. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.  God bless.

Rather than buying lb limbs for my SXT I plan on trying a Zipstick as I ilke 1 piecers, and try to spec em similar for grip and arrows, so I can change up easy.

I am valuing quiet more and more with spooky deer.   Can't wait, but I love the SXT recurve and it is plenty quiet with some string yarns.
