Fletching Color Combinations
« on: November 21, 2008, 10:29:00 PM »
Would like to see some pics of different arrow fletching color combinations. I have been interested in what others find beautiful, unusual and unique as well as appropriate for hunting.

Hap, Thank you for your response.

I am still hoping to see pics from the various fletching combinations that many others have found to their liking.

Whos laughing I shoot 2 pink and 2 blue. Pink is easy to find in the woods cause nothing else in the woods is pink except maybe lung blood.

Here is a color pattern that I have really come to like a bunch.  It shows up very well for me in all light conditions.  I used to fletch most of my arrows with white hen and traditional barred cock feather and no cap wrap.  I recently added the white cap wrap to the mix and plan to continue as it tracks that much better for me....

I use 4-4" feathers all chartreuse.  I can't stand seeing the odd colored feather rotating towards the target.  Looks like wobble.

Orange cap with 2 orange & 2 orange barred 4'' of my own design.

I like this combo because it shows up well. I've thought of throwing in some blue somewhere but just haven't.

Best of luck to you all!

Currently on flouro pink x2 and black x1 feathers with black nock.  Chose that cause they match my bougarabou drum tuning ropes and underlay.

When i get around to hunting i won't be using flouro colours as they do tend to shout very loud in rural environments.  If a human can see them at a 100 metres then i'm sure they'll well spook the bunnies and deers.

how bout colors for you ground hunters? do you use dull colors or still use bright? i've always like a red or yellow dip and combined with yellow and red fletching. early season i like a white mixed in, but in november most colors stand out fine.

Hi Scott

I have settled on an all orange combination. Nock, fletchings and cresting. Stands out really well, even with my dodgey eyesight! Although I can't hunt over here, I have used this combination in all weathers and times of the day and year, in the course of Field Archery and have yet to find anything better. But I'm open to any suggestions

Four barred orange on some, on others barred green, on the rest a combination of both.  Use each color scheme to ID what broadhead is on the arrow!

Hi All,

The last batch of hunting arrows I used were woodies with a black stain on the shafts, and an all black four fletch....160 grain Snuffers out front.

I've got four dozen shafts in the shop ready to make new arrows, and I'm going purple with these ones..... Purple lacquer and purple die-barred feathers....might have trouble matching the two!!

Two chartruess and two hot pink on my hunting arrows.  I need all the help I can get finding them in the woods, and I've yet to loose one with this combo.
