I really enjoy hero shots. Here are two of my favorites I've taken of a couple friends this past season. Please share your favorites.

WOW!!  Beautiful pics.  No trucks, garages, jeans, yards, etc.  Just natural settings taken at the appropriate time and place.  Just perfect.  It's not hard to carry a camera with you.  More people should do it.

Now that's priceless Bob.

Keith, I couldn't agree more. When I sit in my lazy boy when I'm 80 I will enjoy all my photos even more I'm sure.

I would probably enjoy those two shots above a bunch more if the guys had smiles on there faces or something!  I respect the animals just as much as the next guy, and I get the feeling that these guys definitely respect there quarry, however it almost seems like they are either a) to serious, or b) not excited??

It could be possible that I am way off, and that they were excited and they held it in for the pics?  It could be a lot of things, but I just think I personally would like them better if the guy in the background was jumping when the photo was taken?!?!  Just thinking aloud!

With all that mombo jumbo aside very well taken photos and extremely nice deer  :)

Chris, first of all personalities aren't the same. These two guys didn't simply throw a stand up and get lucky these deer walked by one day. They are both whitetail fanatics and they were each very ecstatic I can attest to that. Both these guys had watched these two deer grow for multiple years and both have multiple years of trail camera photos and have had many in the field encounters with them. They followed their development and knew their daily patterns which all leads in a strange way of getting to know the animal itself on a personal level. When this relationship is over its almost a bitter sweet feeling that's hard to explain. They know the process will start over with another animal but this one has ended.

Well said KentuckyTJ....Chris, you're a young dude with alot of talent.....my sons and my early "hero pics" were full of beaming smiles...great pics they are, but the ones that show a somewhat somber face show an end to a hunt for a certain animal that makes it hard to smile......you'll see
